About this file
This document contains a GPU Engine Derating Calculation Worksheet for a 72kW Ground Power Unit. The worksheet requires offerors to input electrical load, alternator, and engine performance data to calculate available engine power after accounting for various deratings. Instructions specify how to complete the form by inserting whole numbers for loads and ratings. Key sections calculate worst-case electrical demand from 400Hz, 28.5VDC and 270VDC systems, size the necessary alternator and engine horsepower, then apply deratings for factors like altitude and temperature to determine available engine power. Offerors must justify any unused derating factors or where line items are not the greatest value. This worksheet is intended to size engines for 72kW GPU systems under the solicitation for that requirement.
