About this file
This document contains questions and answers from a site visit related to a federal contract opportunity for inventory, relocation, and wrapping services. The services include relocating two sets of Generation 2 C-130 maintenance stands from a Defense Logistics Agency storage area at Hill Air Force Base in Utah to a new storage location. The contractor will be required to unwrap, inventory, move, and rewrap the four stands as specified in the performance work statement. The government can provide inventories of the equipment from the previous move and details on what is in each container. Thirty feet of clearance is needed around the packages to move them safely and the DLA has confirmed it can ensure clearance by moving other nearby equipment and crates.

Questions and Answers Relocation of C-130 MX Stands Site Visit – 25 March 2020
- Can the Government provide inventories of what we have?
I believe they have inventories from the previous move and what is in each container.
- When would the Government like to have the packages moved?
ASAP 15 to 30 Days ARO
I think the preference of the government is to save money. Moving during peak traffic hours would probably be a headache, but I don’t think it’s necessary to have them move exclusively during evenings and weekends. They are welcome to propose that I’m sure after hours could be accommodated.
- The vendors each stated they would need about 30 feet of clearance around the packages in order to move them, can this be done?
Yes, I’ve confirmed with DLA, that with a few days’ notice of the work starting, DLA can ensure that all other equipment, crates, etc. can be moved out of the way to give the required clearance on both sides.
-Giving the packages 30 feet of clearance would require DLA to move a lot of smaller items such as tow vehicles and crates away from these packages. If the clearance is not provided costs could also go up because of the additional time it will take to maneuver around each package to sufficiently lift it.
Yes, DLA has confirmed they are willing to move the smaller items to give the required clearance.
