About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) attachment for the UPS Battery Replacement Services solicitation (FA8125-25-Q-0060) issued by the Department of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. The Q&A provides detailed information about battery replacement for multiple Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, including specific battery models for different UPS systems: PowerWare Inc. PWP-165 500KVA units with CSB HRL 12540WFR 12V 540W batteries, Eaton-PowerWare 9395-550/500 units with CSB XPL5700-FR 12V 5700W batteries, and an Eaton-Powerware 9390-80 unit with UPS12-305PLP VRLA 12-300 batteries.
The document addresses numerous logistical details for battery replacement, including work hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm), site access conditions (no stairs, single doors to locations, no loading docks), transportation considerations (forklift availability in some buildings, no designated staging areas), and technical requirements like a battery monitoring system for dis-engagement and re-engagement. The replacement schedule indicates batteries in "Item 0002" will be replaced in the Base Year and potentially again in Option Year 3, with a total of 360 batteries across multiple UPS units. Contractors must coordinate with the Government Point of Contact (GPOC) for work outside standard hours and must be present with a Government Subject Matter Expert (SME) if approved for extended work times.
