Appendix “A-2” Control Programming Specification Requirements

Req Num

Control Programming Specification Requirement
Met
Not Met
1.
For each tower, existing “Low Alarm” sensors shall be replaced or re-integrated into the Invensys Direct Digital Control (DDC) System. As soon as low water levels are detected by the “Low Alarm” sensors, the respective spray-bar pumps shall shut down and the alarm condition shall be present on the plasma display. When water levels have returned to normal, the spray-bar pumps shall power up and the alarm condition shall clear off the plasma display.
2.
For each tower, “High Alarm” sensors shall be integrated into the Invensys DDC System. When high water levels are detected, the fault condition shall be indicated on the plasma display. When water levels have returned to normal, the alarm condition shall clear.
3.
Existing microprocessor control logic for the Invensys DDC System shall be checked and reviewed in coordination with PMXG. Programming changes may be necessary to repair the system to original or better operating status, and this shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
4.
The contractor shall verify that all functions of the control system are reflected correctly on the plasma display.
5.
The contractor shall provide both printed and digital copy of the microprocessor’s programmed control logic.
6.
Existing temperature sensors shall be checked for accuracy and functionality within industry standards. Temperature sensor location shall match locations shown on the plasma display. Any non-conforming sensors shall be repaired or replaced.
7.
Contractor shall install Vibration Cutout Switches into the fan assemblies of both towers such that the fan will power down if said vibrations are detected. Triggered switches shall indicate a fault at the plasma display.
8.
Vibration Cutout Switches shall trigger at OEM recommended vibration levels.
9.
All temperature sensors shall be tagged and labeled using the name convention used on the Automated Building Systems (ABS) technical drawings.
10.
Existing motor sensors shall provide proper feedback to the Invensys DDC System, and shall operate within their design range. This shall be verified by the contractor and any non-conforming sensors shall be repaired or replaced.
