New Business Rules R8 15 Mar 2011.docx

Business Rules

Who:

Action:

Response

Status:

Howard, Erika L Civ USAF AFMC WR-ALC/ENGLDA

PCMS Business Rule

a) We need the following attributes from Haystack for each record to run business rules to auto tag blank SMR codes.

· Is the part stock listed (is it in Haystack)

· RC attribute (Repair Code)

· AAC attribute (Acquisition Advise Code)

· SLC attribute (Shelf Life Code)

b) Attributes that would be helpful to the ES/Heavy clean-up team are:

· Price

· Procurement History

· Source of Supply

Closed with Possible re-opening (HQ AFMC/A4NE Will re-open Will re-open via FY10 Data Profiling Task) to help drive down costs)

Howard, Erika L Civ USAF AFMC WR-ALC/ENGLDA

PCMS SMR Code Business Rule for Inserted Records

Were new lines are created; PCMS should recommend SMR code from parent line when part numbers are the same.

· When part numbers are not the same

· See if it is a cataloged item (has an AAC) if yes set first two digits to (PA)

· If (PA) third position should be set to third position of parent item

· ERRC code, if same as parent, 4th and 5th position should follow same (Z).

Howard, Erika L Civ USAF AFMC WR-ALC/ENGLDA

PCMS SMR Code Business Rule for Stock Listed Parts

· If Stock listed 1st position is (P)

· If

· Acq Advice Code = (Z) then Second position is (B)

· If Shelf life code >0 = Second position is C.

· For all other cases2nd position defaults to (A)

· If RC in Haystack = N then (ZZ) for 4th and 5th positions

· If RC in Haystack = T then (DD) for 4th and 5th positions

If position 1&2 are determined to be PA and if RC code equals P then set third position to O.

If NHA has the third position as D then make the third position D as well.

PCMS should establish “?” in 3rd position in SMR code if unable to determine position from above business rules. This is a sign that heavy clean up team has to investigate.

Howard, Erika L Civ USAF AFMC WR-ALC/ENGLDA

PCMS Business Rule (Non-Stock Listed Item)

1) If non-stock listed part has children which are stock listed then set 1st position of SMR code to A. Also set position 2 ,3,4,& 5 to match 2 - 5 positions of children.

2) If non stock listed and no stock listed children or no children, then 1st position of SMR code is (X) and 2nd position is (?).

Note: When checking 2-5 positions of Children BR should check to see if all children SMR codes match. If certain positions do not match across all children insert a “?” in that position for the parent. Example constructed parent SMR Code AO??T
