About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity to provide K-Span steel coils. The objective is to develop capabilities to rapidly construct K-Span structures, which are vertical steel shelters used in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
The contractor shall supply, transport, deliver, and offload the required materials, which are specified in four appendices. These include galvanized steel coils in widths of 23.5-24 inches and 35.75-36 inches, with thicknesses ranging from 0.026-0.063 inches, and siliconized polyester paint in Colonial Red and Cream Tan colors. The contractor shall coordinate inspections, provide weekly status reports, and be responsible for packaging, shipping, and offloading the materials at the designated delivery locations. The period of performance and delivery schedule are not specified.

1. Introduction: The objective of Ultimate Building Machines (UBM) is to develop capabilities to rapidly construct K-Span structures which are vertical steel shelters that are used in CONUS and OCONUS locations. In all scenarios, time is a critical factor, either to be use as an operational facility for personnel and equipment or for the rapid need to store crucial material out of the elements. Of significant importance is meeting the specific tolerances listed below to ensure the quality and durability of the material.
2. Scope:
2.1.The contractor shall supply, transport, deliver, and offload the required materials (in various configurations). The contractor shall offload materials from shipping truck/containers at destinations and deliver to the installation final location(s) as identified in each Delivery Order (DO).
2.2.The specifications for all required items are listed in the appendices below:
• Appendix A: Galvanized steel in coils conforming to ASTM A 653-20 Steel Grade: Grade 50: Yield strength - 50,000 psi Coil Width: 23.5 inches to 24 inches - optimum is 23.75 inches Coil Diameter: Maximum outside diameter: 40 in. Inside diameter: 19 - 24 in.
Coil Weight: Maximum: 5,000 U.S. lbs (2,270 kg) Thickness: 0.026 to 0.043 in.
