41. QSheet A0.1.00 – Note 10 notes to provide weather protection. During the site walk it did not appear phase 3 & 4 had any weather protection once the curtain wall was removed. The room side of hallways appeared to be exposed to the elements. Is this acceptable?
ADuring the site visits of August 4 and August 11 of 2010, the entire perimeter of CS 3 had already been completely encapsulated with the new curtain wall system. The only areas under construction were those within CS 4. Due to the high winds and unpredictable weather patterns of the Cadet Area, OSB temporary partitions where in place at the perimeter. This has been the weather protection that has proven most successful during the previous construction sequences. Any and all weather damage caused to the building during construction activities shall be remediated at the General Contractor’s cost. The extent of existing protection is a calculated risk the previous GCs have taken.

As an alternate, but limits the stud cavity depth to maximum 9-1/2 in., cut from the gypsum wallboard, 9-1/2 in. long and 12 in. wide, fastened to the studs with three Type S wallboard screws in each stud. 53. QAs a clarification to question #16 of the RFI response, does the 259 day period of performance apply to CS-5 only or to the combined total for CS-5 & 6? It was stated at the site visit on August 4th that the anticipated start date for CS-5 was early January 2011 and the start date for CS-6 would be early July 2011. If the 259 day overall period of performance is 259 days, that only leaves a maximum of 77 days to complete CS-6, assuming CS-6 starts July 1st. Is this correct?
ABy USAFA LGC.
54. QWhat is the wall base material in the Cadet Rooms on the closets and fixed corridor panel (B1 & B2 on elevation 9/A.X.701)?
