About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Request for Quote (RFQ) FA670325Q0017 for Wood Gym Floors at Dobbins Air Reserve Base. The RFQ covers gymnasium maple floor renovation with two primary service options: 1) Screen, Recoat & Repaint Lines, and 2) Resurface (Deep Sanding & Refinish). The total facility area is 7,004 square feet with maple flooring thickness of 3/4 inch. Key project parameters include a preferred completion date of December 30, project commencement within 60 days of contract award, and Dobbins staff handling equipment relocation. The Q&A addresses specific details such as game line repainting, tape removal, potential floor repairs, working hours, and scope flexibility depending on budget and repair priorities. The base will close the targeted facility portion during work to minimize disruption to the broader building operations.

Questions and Answers for RFQ FA670325Q0017
Wood Gym Floors Dobbins ARB
1) Will the work be phased? If so, how many phases are anticipated?
a. This is dependent on the contractors forecast of anticipated completion
2) Regarding the gym floor, is there any specific area that requires repair? Our team was not able to locate any. If applicable, a picture or drawing would be very helpful.
a. With Screen, Recoat & Repaint Lines If we proceed under this scope, we will identify and prioritize the most critical repairs that can be completed within the current application and budget. Larger or non-urgent repairs will be deferred and considered for a future project phase.
b. If Resurface (Deep Sanding & Refinish) occurs , assumption is these repairs would occur as a course of action during this process. During the walkthrough, several areas were identified that may require repair, contingent on the allocated budget. If a full sand and line repainting are selected instead of a screen and recoat, it is assumed that surface repairs—such as gouges and scrapes—will be addressed as part of the sanding process. We can provide reference photos of the identified areas to support decision-making and clarify scope.
3) Will the base remove all fitness equipment in the workout area prior to flooring work, or is the contractor responsible for relocation and reinstallation?
a) All but the bleachers will be removed by Dobbins staff.

A The colors will remain the same. We may add a line. (See Q6)
6) Do you want us to add any permanent lines? Rather than using tape?
a. Yes, A single line 5” wide 50’ length where tape is.
7) Confirm if two coats of oil-modified high solids polyurethane finish is the final requirement, or if additional coats/line painting are expected beyond the SOW specifications.
a. Two coats per SOW
8) Some bases have been damaged and/or removed. Are we adding or replacing with new?
a Depends on priority of repair and option on contract pursued.
5) Please confirm that we are to price the repairing of bad boards in doorways and a few stained boards.
A. Provide with or without of those specific repairs. Depends on priority of repair and option on contract pursued. See answer in Q1
9) The tape that is on the floor, we can try our best to remove with adhesive removal, etc..
But it may not come out all the way. Is that acceptable to coat over?
a. See Q8
10) If the tape does not come up completely, would you like us to paint over it to make it like a game line?
a. If only doing Screen, Recoat & Repaint Lines. Yes make an effort to remove and paint over.
