About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a floor restoration project for the Dobbins Air Reserve Base Fitness Center. The project involves screening and recoating an existing 7,004 square foot maple athletic floor using oil-modified high solids polyurethane finish. Key requirements include machine screening the entire floor surface, thorough cleaning, applying two coats of finish, and ensuring uniform coverage while meeting environmental standards including EPA VOC regulations and DoD indoor air quality directives.

The comprehensive SOW outlines specific procedural steps including preparation (masking floor plates and protecting adjacent surfaces), mechanical screening with approved equipment, tack cleaning, and finish application. The contractor must follow manufacturer specifications, use approved screening pads, avoid deep sanding, and maintain uniform abrasion. Post-work requirements include a joint inspection with the facility manager, addressing any deficiencies, and submitting warranty documentation and maintenance recommendations. The project aligns with multiple regulatory standards, including UFC building requirements, Air Force facility sustainment protocols, and Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association guidelines.
