AFRC Enterprise IT SOO SME Questions

1. What recommendations do you have for altering the current Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) end user desktop experience to achieve the AFRC objectives related to a mobile, cloud-based, device-agnostic service that provides access to the office productivity tools, collaboration capabilities, connectivity, and mission systems AFRC users will need in the future work environment

(to include on-site dedicated desk spaces and shared desk spaces, as well as off-site teleworking)?

2. How would you design hoteling areas within our on-site facilities that meet AFRC end user desktop requirements to include “soft” phone w/DSN and commercial, file share access, Desktop Video

Teleconferencing (VTC) integration, network access, and iOS/Android phone and tablet capabilities that would improve collaboration and productivity?

3. The iPads AFRC currently uses for mobile mission support are not connected to the Air Force network, leading to challenges loading data only available on the Air Force network (such as technical order data). Currently, we rely on a manual process to offload data and then connect devices to a cradle to load the data. What recommendations do you have for keeping devices like these synced without a manual process?

4. What innovative customer support tools, processes, or ideas would help minimize help desk labor for end users while maximizing user experiences?

5. What is your experience successfully transitioning to the commercial cloud? What were some of the challenges and risks? How were those challenges and risks mitigated? What recommendations do you have to modernize and cloud-enable AFRC systems to transition to the commercial cloud?

6. What alternative capabilities do you recommend to help AFRC meet Land Mobile Radio (LMR) voice needs and interoperability requirements without the costly infrastructure and tech refresh of the current Enterprise LMR (ELMR)/LMR approach?

7. How would you build out a robust secure mobile capability? Do you have any related Commercial

Solutions for Classified (CSfC) products that are National Security Agency (NSA) approved and in accordance with established Common Criteria process? If you have submitted an innovation solution addressing CSfC requirements, what was the outcome?

8. Do you recommend any other innovations or technology advances that would benefit AFRC by making our operations more efficient, better meet mission requirements, and be more cost effective? Describe the expected impact on the recommendation on the services identified in section 5 of the Statement of Objectives (SOO). Also, please provide links or other reference materials if possible.

9. What past experience do you have delivering the services described in section 5 of the SOO and what acquisition, technical, or support risks do you foresee with contracting these services out?
