About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) report documenting contractor questions and government responses regarding a pavement markings maintenance contract.
The RFI (No. 0005) pertains to solicitation FA6606-26-B-0001 for "Maintain Pavement Markings" under project YTPM 25-3001, issued on 27 March 2026. The contractor submitted two questions concerning the bid schedule quantities for runway rubber removal. Question 01 asked whether the listed 6,000 SF for rubber removal in accordance with ETL 97-17 represented the full extent of removal required or if additional removal might be needed based on actual field conditions in the touchdown zone areas. The government response (WARB) clarified that the bid schedule specifies HSF (hundred square feet), meaning the actual quantity is 600,000 square feet (6,000 × 100 = 600,000 SF). Question 02 requested confirmation that the removal quantity aligns with the friction testing scope for Runway 05/23. The government response noted that friction testing quantities in the bid schedule are measured in "Each" units rather than square footage. The RFI indicates no potential cost or schedule impact was identified. The QA reviewer was Owen George, dated 1 July 2026.

QUESTION 01: The bid schedule lists Rubber Removal IAW ETL 97-17 in the amount of 6,000 SF. Based on typical touchdown zone conditions, this quantity appears lower than expected for runway rubber removal.
Please confirm whether the 6,000 SF quantity represents the full intended extent of rubber removal for this project, or whether additional removal may be required based on actual field conditions within the touchdown zone areas.
WARB RESPONSE 01:Please review the Bid Schedule carefully. It states HSF which is hundred square feet. (6,000 *100=600,000)
QUESTION 02: We would also appreciate confirmation that the stated removal quantity is consistent with the required friction testing scope for Runway 05/23?
WARB RESPONSE 02: See above and note that the bid schedule is for friction testing is not base on SF but on "Each".
