About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) report for solicitation FA6606-26-B-0001, "Maintain Pavement Markings" (YTPM 25-3001), submitted by a contractor on 17 March 2026. The RFI addresses questions and clarifications regarding project drawings and work requirements for a pavement marking maintenance project. The document was reviewed by QA reviewer Owen George and is marked as having no potential cost or schedule impact.
The RFI contains five contractor questions with corresponding responses from WARB. Key clarifications include: greywater may be disposed of on-site, but rubber and paint chips/debris must be disposed of off-site; lighted X's are not required for nighttime runway work; the referenced "compass rose" is an existing marking that requires only repainting, with no new installation needed; white markings on concrete surfaces only require black borders to create contrast per UFC standards, not asphalt markings; and the project is anticipated to start in late spring to summer. The note accompanying the RFI emphasizes that the response system does not authorize additional work and that if the contractor considers the response a changed condition, written notice must be provided to the Contracting Officer's Representative in accordance with contract provisions.

QUESTION 01: Can greywater be disposed of on-site?
WARB RESPONSE 01:Yes, gray water can be disposed on site but both rubber and paint chips/debris must be disposed of off site.
QUESTION 02: Are lighted X’s required for nighttime runway work?
WARB RESPONSE 02: No.
QUESTION 03: The drawings reference a “compass row” (assuming this is meant to be a compass rose). Google Earth does not indicate an existing compass rose—could you please confirm? If one is to be installed, we would need a corresponding detail/drawing.
WARB RESPONSE 03: This area is existing and already marked. The contractor is required only to paint over existing markings.
QUESTION 04: The Summary of Work states, “White markings on concrete will be boxed with black markings.” Please confirm whether this applies only to concrete surfaces or if all pavement markings (including asphalt) require black borders.
WARB RESPONSE 04: On concrete surfaces only in order to create contrast per UFC.
QUESTION 05: When is the project anticipated to start?
WARB RESPONSE 05: Late Spring to Summer.
