About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) report for a roofing repair project at Hangar 3 & 9, associated with the Department of the Air Force Reserve Command's solicitation FA660625R0002. The RFI contains five specific questions from the contractor (RBT Roofing) regarding project details, including concrete deck slope, insulation requirements, fall protection system specifications, roof drain replacements, and stair tower access.

Key technical specifications include: an assumed concrete deck slope of 1/4" per foot, sloped insulation required only at crickets, saddles, and drain sumps, Guardian as the mandatory fall protection system manufacturer, full roof drain assembly replacements (no retrofits), and two separate stair towers required - one on each side of the building for government access to flat roofs. The document is dated 31 July 2025 and emphasizes that the RFI system does not authorize additional work without proper contracting officer approval.

1 BEFORE AWARD

What is the existing slope of the structural concrete deck on the lower adjacent roofs, if there is any slope?

Existing concrete deck is believed to be sloped. The slope is assumed at 1/4" per foot.

A fully tapered insulation system is not required for the lower concrete deck roofs, correct?

Just crickets, saddles, and drain sumps?

A fully tapered insulation system is not required. Sloped insulation is required at crickets, saddles and drain sumps - see A-101.

Is Guardian the only brand we can utilize for the fall protection system or is the government open to an approved equal manufacturer/ installer?

Yes, Guardian is the required manufacturer. The Government is not open to an approved equal.

Can retrofit roof drains be an acceptable alternative to full roof drain assembly requested or is the government set on full drain assembly replacements?

Full roof drains are required.

Are two separate stair towers required for access or can one tower be utilized and dismantled and reassembled as needed?

Two separate stairs are required. One on each side of the building for Government access to the flat roofs.
