About this file
This is an Addendum to a Construction Contract Specification for Project QUUG 25-1012, specifically addressing clarifications to Section 01 and painting/coating requirements under Section 09 90 00.
Section 1.1 clarifies that enamel painting requirements apply to all steel and galvanized steel surfaces, including the entire sandwich panel assembly of Building 221 (CLIN 3, Additive Item No. 02). The government's estimated surface area of 383.92 square meters, as marked on drawing A203, confirms this comprehensive application across all building elevations. Section 1.2 specifies that intermediate and final coats must consist of two-component polyurethane acrylic enamel for both steel and galvanized steel surfaces. The addendum establishes precise dry film thickness requirements for multiple surface types: Steel surfaces require 35 micras primer, 30 micras intermediate coat, and 30 micras top coat; Galvanized steel surfaces require 8-10 micras primer, 30 micras intermediate coat, and 30 micras top coat. Additional coating specifications are provided for wood surfaces (8-10 micras primer, 10-16 m²/l for intermediate and top coats), interior plaster/cement/masonry surfaces marked as EP (6-7 m²/litre for intermediate and top coats using two-component epoxy paint), interior surfaces marked as P/PV/PC (4.5-5 m²/l efficiency using vinyl plastic paint), exterior cement/concrete/brickwork surfaces (4.25-5 m²/litre efficiency with vinyl plastic paint), and concrete floors (6.2 m²/litre efficiency using water epoxy paint). All other specification provisions remain unchanged.

PROJECT QUUG 25-1012
ADD - 1
ADDENDUM TO THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT SPECIFICATION #01
1. The purpose of this addendum is to clarify any doubts that may arise regarding the interpretation or execution of the requirements of this contract, which are detailed below:
1.1 SECTION 01 11 00 SCOPE OF WORK
a.- The specification requires in section 01 11 00 Scope of Work, paragraph 1.3, CLIN 3 Building 221 (Additive Item No. 02), subparagraph 1.3.7, item (17): Enamel Painted Steel and Galvanized steel surfaces with synthetic enamel coats.
b.- In this case, it must be interpreted that enamel is to be applied to all surfaces, whether steel or galvanized steel, including the entire sandwich panel assembly. This requirement is in fact established in legend callout No. 17 of drawing A203, which marks all elevations of the building.
Likewise, the government’s estimated quantity of 383.92 sm shown on that drawing confirms that the treatment applies to the entire surface of the building.
1.2 SECTION 09 90 00 PAINTS AND COATINGS
a.- The specification requires in Section 09 90 00 Paints and Coating, Paragraph 2.2.2 Intermediate and Final Coat, subparagraphs 2.2.2.1 Steel Surfaces and 2.2.2.2 Galvanized Steel Surfaces, to be painted with Two component polyurethane acrylic enamel.
b.- The above-mentioned treatment is what must be applied to referred surfaces, no matter if those are steel or galvanized steel.
c.- Section 09 90 00 Paintings and Coating. Paragraph 3.6 Table of Painted requires as follow:
Steel Surface:
Coat Film thickness dry Primer Synthetic priming base on modified 35 micras alkyd resins.
Intermediate Modified alkyd resin base enamel 30 micras Top coat Modified alkyd resin base enamel 30 micras
Galvanized Steel Surface:
Coat Material Film thickness dry Primer Phosphate and pasivator primer of two 8-10 micras components with corrosion inhibitors and

d.- The purpose of this table is to establish the thickness of the paints and coatings when dry as well as the efficiency, and not the material, therefore the table shall be considered as follow:
Steel Surface:
Coat Film thickness dry Primer 35 micras Intermediate 30 micras Top coat 30 micras
Galvanized Steel Surface:
Coat Film thickness dry Primer 8-10 micras Intermediate 30 micras Top coat 30 micras
Wood Surfaces:
Film thickness dry/ Coat Efficiency Primer 8-10 micras Intermediate 10-16 m²/l Top coat 10-16 m²/l
Interior Plaster, cement, masonry and other surfaces. Marked on the drawings as EP:
Coat Efficiency Primer Intermediate 6-7 m²/litre Top coat 6-7 m²/litre
Interior Plaster, cement, masonry and other surfaces. Marked on the drawings as P or PV or PC:
Coat Efficiency Primer 4,5 m²/l Intermediate 5 m²/litre Top coat 5 m²/litre
Exterior Cement, concrete, brickwork and similar surface:
