About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) from the 422 Civil Engineer Squadron regarding planning actions for the Install Security Fence BstJ project (Project Reference: AWJB 25-1006, RFI Reference: 003), dated April 17, 2026.

The contractor submitted two planning inquiries to 422 CES with a need-by date of April 23, 2026: (1) Environmental Impact Studies and (2) Mitigations Licenses. Darran Griffiths of 422 CES responded on April 23, 2026, providing the following information: Environmental Impact Studies have not been formally undertaken because the intent is to follow the land abutting existing hard standing as much as possible; where the route deviates (such as the area southwest of the Installation near the Electrical substation), Environmental Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be available to consult as work progresses, and the route remains open to deviation to allow maximum flexibility for the contractor with Enviro SME support in determining the optimum route at each stage. Regarding Mitigations Licenses, an indicative route has been prepared to exclude any works within the prescribed 30-meter stand-off distance to any badger setts or indicators of badger activity, so the Environmental SME has confirmed this license is not required; however, the Environmental SME will remain available for consultation during work progress, including on-site and in-person during the installation phase. Section 3 of the RFI (Review) remains incomplete with no recorded reviewer, review date, acceptance status, or closure date.
