1 Electrical description of work para 5.3.l, page 11 of 45 Please clarify scope since there are two HVAC emergency shutdown required by criteria as follows:
a. Shutdown of air handling unit by associated duct smoke detector protecting the particular air handling unit as required in NFPA 90A, para 6.4.3 for fire protection.
b. Shutdown the air distribution and exhaust systems throughout the= building and close all dampers leading to the outside as required by para B- 4.3, UFC 4-010-01 for antiterrorism.
Shutdown is accomplished by emergency shutoff switch (or switches) normally located at facility entrances/exits similar to the MNS local operating console (LOC). Although there are common HVAC equipment required to be shutdown by fire (duct smoke detector) and by emergency shutoff switch (for antiterrorism) like air handling units; the control system for shutdown of these equipment for fire and antiterrorism is entirely independent from each other. Please advise if our interpretation is correct?
Both HVAC emergency shutdowns are required by SOW. Shutdown of air handling unit required by NFPA 90A, see Electrical SOW. Shutdown of air distribution system required by UFC 4-010-01, see Mechanical SOW.
2 D50, page 11 of 43 This paragraph requires electrical testing to be in accordance with NETA acceptance testing specifications; is Japanese standard testing procedures not acceptable?
Equivalent Japanese testing procedure are acceptable.
