About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for a 36th Medical Group (MDG) Security Badge System Site Visit. The Q&A addresses four key technical questions about the security badge system installation, including door hardware modifications, cable installation, panel placement, and network infrastructure. Specific details include using a classroom-style lock for safety, installing new cables in existing drop ceiling cable trays, utilizing Room K131 in Building 26009 for additional panels, and leveraging an existing router in Building 26012 to connect panels to the server. The Statement of Work (SOW) specifies the door hardware requirements, and the Plan of Work (POW) includes provisions for additional routers or switches if needed.

36 MDG – Security Badge System Site Visit Q&A

1. Will the government be changing the existing door hardware to include a classroom style lock? This lock is for safety and allows free egress but stays locked constantly from the outside.

Specified in the SOW for door hardware/lock to be classroom style.

2. Are the wires going to be installed inside the drop ceiling? If so, how will they be secured?

In the existing drop ceiling infrastructure, cable trays exist and new cables can be secured to these trays.

3. Does the government have areas to install intermediate panels to go in between the card readers and the main rack?

Room K131 in Building 26009 will be utilized to install any additional panels required.

4. Does the government already have intermediates in place in addition to the main rack?

1 router exists on-site to connect panels to the server in Building 26012 room A30. A CAT6 cable run exists from room A30 in building 26012 and room 112 building 26001 to connect this router to new server location. If an additional router or switch is required, it is included in the POW.
