About this file
This document is a set of questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for the installation of fiber optic cabling from Hangar 3 to MCLIPS shelters at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER).
The key details are:
The contractor is requested to provide photos of the existing communication closet in Hangar 3 and the penetration location at the MCLIPS shelter to assist in the planning and installation. The contractor is also asked to confirm if the fiber strands need to be certified after termination, and to provide the type and length of any required patch cables. The fiber optic cabling installation must comply with the JBER Telecom Standards and Criteria, and the exterior fiber must be installed in rigid metal conduit. This 24-strand single mode fiber optic installation is part of Solicitation FA5000Q240051 for the Hangar 3 Fiber Optic Installation project, which is being managed by the Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces.
