Solicitation Questions & Answers
1) What does this entail (water wash by nature does not need to be cleaned unless talking about the nozzles inside the plenum area)?
This is referring to the nozzles inside the plenum area. In the past, there has been an issue on actually getting these parts cleaned, therefore, we have given the water wash system its own paragraph (2.2) in the PWS to shed light on its cleaning being an actual requirement for this contract.
2) What manufacturer are the water wash systems (Gaylord, A-vent, Mist-a- Fire)?
Water wash systems are Gaylords & ChemTech
3) Is there any idea on monthly quantity of degreaser supplied to the system?
Is there a requirement of brand (Gaylord requires the use of their G-510)?
The monthly quantity of degreaser supplied to the system is unknown. The PWS does not specify supply brand name requirement to clean the kitchen hoods & ducts exhaust systems or water wash systems. Contractor shall service or replace devices IAW manufacturer’s specifications.
4) Is there a cleaning cycle for the grease traps in the kitchens so they will not overflow when testing and maintaining the water wash system?
The grease traps are cleaned on a monthly basis.
5) Is this going to be a single contract for all the line items (hood & duct, backflows, water wash, dryer vents) or can it be bid by line per our certification and equipment ability?
This is a single contract. Contractor must perform all the services (kitchen hoods & ducts exhaust systems, water wash systems, and dryer vent maintenance) as stated in the PWS.
