Questions and Answers

FA4861-10-B-A045

JEWC-N Repair and Renovate Bldgs 10203 & 10204

7 September 2010

1) Will the 35% design drawings from Jacobs Engineering be provided to the winning bidder in

AutoCAD format?

Government Response: Yes, AutoCAD drawings will be provided.

2) If so, will the drawings be unlocked (not read-only) so that they may be amended to the 95% stage?

Government Response: Yes, drawings should be editable.

3) The drawings in the solicitation package include a Code Study for the project. Has this code study been reviewed and approved by the Authorities having jurisdiction? It is understood that the successful contractor must provide all design and construction to meet code, but the Code

Study is the foundation upon which the bids will be prepared.

Government Response: The provided code analysis is Jacob's interpretation. Since these are scoping drawings and not construction drawings this code analysis should be used as a starting point for Contractor's design and professionally approved/stamped final documents.

4) Will landscaping around the buildings need to be restored and/or improved after construction?

Government Response: Any existing landscape rock mulch, plants, and/or irrigation systems that need to be removed to allow for project work shall be replaced to match existing. Any plants that die during contractor occupancy of Buildings 10203 and 10204 shall be replaced.

Contractor shall maintain site throughout performance period and this includes plants and irrigation. Rock mulch shall be installed where existing pavement is shown to be removed.

5) Will the government require a registered Landscape Architect to stamp/sign planting and irrigation drawings?

Government Response: Landscape repair work will not require hiring a registered landscape architect.
