Q: “Grading is to begin at 18" below crown of road. However, we must know at what point from the road does the 18" cut begin. Is it at the ready wall location, which is 150' from edge of road, or the southern edge of the berms, which are 242' from edge road?”
A: The 18” cut will begin at the ready wall.
Q: “Should the berms follow the slope of the range or increase in height across the range to maintain a 0% slope?
A: The berm height shall be 6’ and follow the slope of the range (no increase to maintain level).

Q: “For how many months are we required to water the transplanted Joshua trees?”
A: The contractor shall be responsible for watering the trees for the length of the contract.
Q: “Is there a financial liability per tree if they do not survive despite concerted nursery efforts?”
A: There is no financial liability if a tree dies, as there can be numerous reasons the tree does not survive. As long as the contractor takes proper care when transplanting and watering the salvaged vegetation during the length of the contract, there will be no penalty.
