About this file
This memorandum from the Department of the Air Force Animal Research Oversight and Compliance Office (AROCO) lists eleven AAALAC International-accredited vendors approved for Live Tissue Training (LTT) for the Department of the Air Force. The approved vendors include Assessment and Training Solutions Consulting Corporation (ATSCC), F3EA, Inc., Guardian Centers of Georgia, QRF U.S. LLC, Raven Medical, Inc., SIMMEC Training Solutions, Stony Brook University, Tier One Group, Templar Medical, University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB), and Wake Forest University.
The approval is based on favorable reviews of the Animal Care and Use Program, animal protocols, and the DAF/SG Chief Surgical Consultant's approval of the Programs of Instruction. Vendors must maintain USDA Registration (or meet specific exemption conditions) and AAALAC International accreditation, and strictly adhere to Federal laws, Department of Defense, and Department of the Air Force regulations. Any non-compliance will result in immediate suspension of approval. The document emphasizes that this is not a contractual funding approval, which can only be authorized by a Contracting Officer, and all training contracts must contain specific Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) clauses.
