REQUIREMENTS

Area Lighting

Area lighting is required for safety and security purposes. In the event of a CEMIRT disaster/emergency support requirement, staging of equipment could fall into periods outside of regular daylight hours. The lighting would not need to be on from dusk/dawn, but only when required via an electrical switch disconnect or similar means.

Electrical receptacles

Electrical receptacles need to be placed approximately every 15-20 feet along the perimeter of the parking pad. Every receptacle station shall include (2) 20 Amp duplex receptacles housed within a 4” square weatherproof electrical box. Each receptacle (2 per station) shall be fed with an independent 20 amp, 120 volt circuit. This is needed due to the amperage draw of each battery charger and coolant heater.

The requirement is needed to keep the CEMIRT emergency generator fleet in a “ready” status.

The receptacles would maintain generator battery chargers and coolant heating systems. Without readily available electricity in the area, generator battery systems tend to fail, causing increased costs with battery replacement due to premature failure.

Area Fencing

The parking area will need to be secured with perimeter fencing with privacy slats. This fence should be approximately 8’ tall. The entry gates to this area shall be at least 20’ wide to allow the entrance and exit of vehicles with trailers.

Safety Bollards

There should be 6” steel pipe, concrete filled safety bollards placed on the corners of the entry and exit points of the perimeter fencing. These bollards will prevent damage to the fencing.
