ANSWER: Minimum Embedment for 4x4 piles shall be 5 feet per FDEP Walkover Guidelines.

2) The grade of wood is not specified. Typical grades of wood consist of #1 prime, #1 common, #2 common and on a boardwalk of this magnitude, the difference in grades will strongly effect pricing. Please specify the grade of wood required for the framing members, decking members, and handrail members.

ANSWER: Framing Members = No. 1 Common Decking Members = No. 1 Prime Handrail Members = No. 1 Common Finger Piers = No. 1 Common or Prime

ANSWER: UC4C minimum Use Category for ground contact members.

4) Drawing D-2 for (B11300) Section 2/D-2 Shows 2 ea. 3/8"x4" HDG Lag Bolts. Should these be SS as all the other hardware?

ANSWER: Hot Dipped Galvanized (HDG) lag bolts are currently in place for the existing structure and appear to have performed well. For this reason and consideration to the life cycle costs, HDG lags were specified for the connection as shown in Detail 2/D-2.

5) What is the exact location of the connection using the HDG Lag Bolts?

ANSWER: Detail 2/D-2 is showing a plan view and elevation view of the 4x4 pile, 2x10 split cap beams, and 2x10 stringer. The lag bolts are the fasteners for the 2x10 stringer to 4x4 pile connection.
