About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the removal of existing shelving and installation of new pallet rack shelving systems at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, specifically within the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) warehouse facilities in BLDG 216 and BLDG 1518.

The contractor must complete all on-site work within 30 calendar days, including disassembly and removal of outdated shelving units, legal disposal of all removed materials off-site, installation of new pallet rack systems, and full site cleanup. The project requires installation of three distinct shelving system types: System A in BLDG 216 (Main Warehouse) featuring 4 rows of 6 bays each, 108" x 42" x 144" dimensions, 5,000 lbs per shelf capacity with wire mesh decking, 28 pallet rack guards, and 8 safety rails; System B in BLDG 216 (TMO Wood Shop Area) consisting of multiple configurations including heavy-duty shelving rows, center aisle shelving, a starter shelf unit, and a cantilever rack system with specific structural specifications and hardware requirements; and System C in BLDG 1518 (Air Transportation Function) comprising 3 shelving units with 3,000 lbs per shelf capacity and wire decking. All installations must comply with Air Force Occupational Safety and Health Standard 91-501, OSHA 29 CFR 1910, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 13 standards regarding spacing for fire suppression and ventilation. The contractor must designate a contract manager fluent in English with full authority to direct daily operations, comply with base security protocols including 100% vehicle searches and traffic regulations, and maintain the work area in compliance with all facility safety and security regulations. Normal operations are Monday through Friday, 0700 to 1600, except Federal holidays, though work schedules may be adjusted to accommodate military exercises, contingency operations, or weather emergencies. Final acceptance is contingent upon inspection and approval by a designated government representative verifying safe, secure installation per SOW requirements. The Government Point of Contact is tessa.steward@us.af.mil.

3.4. Hours of Operations. Normal operation is Monday through Friday, 0700 to 1600, except for Federal holidays. There may be mission situations that require the contractor to work other than normal hours. Some of these situations are military exercises, contingency operations, or weather emergencies. When the contractor’s access to a work area conflicts with an Air Force mission requirement, the contractor shall schedule the work to minimize the disruption. Such scheduling may require work to be accomplished at times other than normal duty hours.

3.5. Contractor-owned Vehicle Searches. Contractor-owned vehicles are subject to 100% security search prior to installation access.

3.6. Traffic Regulations. Contractor personnel shall comply with all base traffic regulations and are subject to random vehicle speed control checks.
