All work must minimize disruptions to air traffic control operations, maintain a clean work environment with air filtration during window replacement, and comply with UFC 4-133-01 and applicable federal, state, and local codes. The contractor must verify and document existing window types and dimensions prior to procurement, submit material submittals demonstrating compliance with specifications, obtain approval for paint colors before purchase and installation, and provide a one-year minimum warranty on all completed work.
The contractor is responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision necessary to execute the repairs in a workmanlike manner. The Government will provide a staging area near the tower base and site access to approved personnel. Security and site access requirements are stringent, including compliance with FAR 5352.242-9000 for Air Force installation access, background checks through the FBI, Criminal History Report Inquiry through NCIC, airfield driver training with AF Form 483 certification, radio equipment for Controlled Movement Area operations, coordination with Airfield Management, and adherence to all Installation Commander directives. Normal duty hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, though scheduling adjustments may be required to accommodate Air Force mission requirements and minimize operational disruptions.
