Washer and Dryer Questions and Answer
1. Your bid sheet “offers information” – example: Item numbers 0001 states washing machines, qty, unit, unit price.
• You have 72 (stand-alone) washers – example attached
• You have 76 combo units (washer & dryer) - example attached
• The pricing on the “stand alone washer” is in the hundreds of dollars versus the
“combo unit” is in the thousands of dollars.
• Shouldn’t we have a separate CLINS for the combo units… example 0001 stand alone washer, 0002 stand alone dryer, 0003 combo unit.
Answer:
We don’t have any combo washer/dryers. All of the units we have and that we are asking for are ‘stand alone’ but there are 4 buildings where the appliances are stacked using a stacking kit so they fit into the utility closet. Therefore, the numbers of units we need are:
72 – Top load washer (community laundry rooms)
76 – Front load washer (quad rooms)
72 – Front load dryers (community laundry rooms)
76 – Front load dryers (quad rooms)
2. Upon award of the contract and shipment of the new machines to the base will you provide a “staging area”, this is where the semi’s meet our installation crew and we unload, uncrate, before installation to the buildings begins. As well as the delivery of the trash roll off container. This can be a parking lot as most bases provide us for the installation period. I estimate 1 week to complete this project.

3. 1.3. the governments definition of “disposed” on the removed used equipment. Is the contractor free to do as needed with these units?
Yes, that’s correct.

Answer: No, there are no elevators.
7. Does this contract come with a wage determination?
Answer: Yes. I have amended the solicitation and have added the wage determination.
8. Just to clarify the award requires the contractor to be either a Small Disadvantage Business OR a Woman Owned Business, not both. Please clarify that only one of the type of set-asides is required.
