FA4659-16-R-0004 Solicitation Question and Answers

Q1: In the graphic below, in particular Flag A06: In Corridor 102, would it make sense to remove all the carpet in this area (terminate between Corridor C102 and C100) and replace with new – otherwise there is a possibility of this looking like a “patch”. Please advise.

A1: Remove and replace carpet in corridor C102. See revised sheets AD101, A-101, and A-601.

Q2: For clarification, Detail 1/A-201 calls out “AD-1”. Is this fair to assume this is the access doors called out in specification 08 30 00?

A2: Access door AD-1 in spec 08 30 00 is the door referenced on sheet A-201.

Q3: On sheet MH101 and MP101 the plans appear to show new mechanical ductwork and piping being installed south of corridor C111. On the general demolition plan, sheet AD101 there doesn’t appear to be any work in the corresponding areas, in particular ceiling demolition. Do these rooms, where new ductwork is being placed not have ACT ceilings? Will additional demolition/protection not be required in these areas? Also, the temporary walls will not protect these areas should wall cutting be required. Please advise.

A3: Ceiling removal and replacement and penetrations will be required in areas for mechanical work. Temporary walls will not be needed as work in these areas will not be long term. Appropriate care must be taken in these areas to protect government property. See revised sheets C-101 and AD101.

Q4: Could it be determined if temporary cooling is required for the Comm. Room on the Building 607 repair project while the Air Handling Unit is down?

A4: The Comm room temperature must remain below 75° F. See revised sheet MD101.

Q5: Is Division 27, Telecommunication Cabling Systems, included in the base bid of this project or a separate contract?

A5: Telecommunication Cabling Systems work is included in this project.
