About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for McConnell Air Force Base Carpet Replacements solicitation FA462126Q0049.

The Q&A addresses clarifications on carpet materials, installation scope, and project execution. For Building 840, the existing material is Mohawk Sabbatical carpet (Part #: SAW0002667) totaling approximately 50.53 square yards across Rooms 108a, 118a, 121a, and 121b, with an additional 60 square yards of new-in-box carpet available. The 15% extra carpet tiles requirement applies only to contractor-furnished quantities, not the full installed amount. All installation-related costs—including demolition, disposal, floor preparation, cover base, transitions, furniture relocation, cleanup, and other associated work—must be incorporated into the Installer Cost line item. Carpet sourcing must remain within the identified Air Force Carpet Program vendors only; approved equals cannot be sourced externally. Building 739 has asbestos identified in Room 122 flooring tile, requiring contractor consideration during adhesive removal and floor preparation. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 0730–1630, with buildings unavailable on federal holidays. The Government reserves the right to award any individual CLIN, combination of CLINs (0001–0009), or no CLINs based on funding availability, with phases discussable upon award. Furniture moving and replacement costs must be included in the pricing. The spare carpet for Building 840 has never been installed and is stored flat in a climate-controlled area. The September 3rd site visit was not mandatory for award eligibility; competitive quotes from non-attendees will be accepted and evaluated.
