About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document issued by the Department of the Air Force, United States Space Force, Space Launch Delta 30, regarding carpet installation services for Building 7015 at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The RFI addresses 18 questions and answers related to the carpet installation project. Key operational details include: the building contains various cubicles, fixed offices, hallways, administration sections, and waiting areas with existing furniture and fixtures that will remain in place; building access is controlled through time-locked doors with keyed access and cipher-lock entrances; contractors are responsible for moving filing cabinets (with customer assistance in emptying them), while customers will remove personal items and plants; the service elevator is available for material transport; work will occur during standard daytime hours around existing operations; installation will be sectioned to allow employee teleworking with two rows requiring separate carpeting due to launch-support computer usage. The government intends to specify one carpet product and color throughout the project (rather than multiple products or patterns), with conference room and admin area borders to be replaced in kind. The contractor must provide an estimated time for area clearance with contingency buffer, with one-week lead time being acceptable but longer timeframes preferred. An area adjacent to Building 7015 will be designated for temporary material staging, equipment laydown, and contractor parking. The government will coordinate with the facility manager regarding debris chute use through a third-floor window and dumpster placement. The solicitation deadline was extended to Friday, September 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM Pacific. The period of performance, specific work hours, and maximum number of workstations to be taken out of service simultaneously are to be determined (TBD).
