About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the FA460025Q0027 - 97 IS NIPR Expansion Project, providing technical details about a network infrastructure upgrade. The project involves installing new network cabling at Offutt Air Force Base, specifically for the 97th Intelligence Squadron, with key technical specifications including OM4-MultiMode-LC/LC green cabling, 156 new network drops, and work within a secure communication room. Contractors will need NSA vetting, must seal cable penetrations with fire-rated materials, and provide patch cords.
The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 238210, managed by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command. Critical dates include a site visit on 26 February 2025, a question submission deadline of 3 March 2025, a Q&A document release by 6 March 2025, and offer submissions due by 13 March 2025. The project requires installing new cabling in Room 41G, with specific wall jack part numbers provided (6-port: 1-1933674-3, 4-port: 1-1933671-3) and confirmation of sufficient bandwidth to support the additional network drops.

FA460025Q0027 – 97 IS NIPR Expansion Project Question and Answer Document
Q: Do we need fire protection/foam for the cabling that runs through penetrations?
A: Per Fire Prevention, penetrations need to be sealed after cable is ran and the seal must be fire rated.
Q: What are the part numbers for the current wall jacks so the new ones can potentially match?
A: 6 Port - 1-1933674-3; 4 Port - 1-1933671-3 Q: What type of approval/vetting is necessary for contractors working within the secure area but only on the NIPR network?
A: They will most likely need NSA vetting as they are working in the Comm Room, per SSOs.
Q: Is there enough bandwidth going to 41G to support an additional 156 drops?
A: There is enough bandwidth in 41G to support the additional drops, per Comm Squadron.
Q: Is there any type of data rack layout available for this project?
A: There was a data rack layout, but it is no longer correct. It is also a hardcopy that was printed for the Rack.
Q: Are we pulling all new cabling to these locations?
A: Yes Q: What type of cabling needs to be installed, and what color should it be?
A: OM4-MultiMode-LC/LC-Green Q: Can you please explain the symbols? Specifically, what do the white symbols represent?
A: What white symbols?
Q: Where is the data closet located?
A: The data closet is in RM 41G.
