Replace Broken Storm Drain Pipe, B764 Parking Lot

Q. Are there any constraints on the working hours?

A. In accordance with the solicitation, Attachment 4, Section 01010 – Unique Site Requirements .Working Hours are from 07:00am to 04:00pm Monday through Friday.

Q. Where does the pipe come from and go?

A. See attached copy of the drawing. It shows the connection, but does not show where it is going.

Q. Are there any utilities around the broken manhole joint?

A. There are no utilities identified. In accordance with the solicitation, attachment 1, Statement of Work dated 16 September 2009, I. C. 1d. The Government POC shall submit and issue a digging permit prior to starting the project.

Q. Is the estimated cut size (20 foot long by 12 foot wide) for the asphalt estimated or required.

A. In accordance with the solicitation, attachment 1, Statement of Work, dated 16 September 2009, I.C.1b. Contractor shall cut an “estimated” 20 foot long X 12 foot wide area or “as required to reach and repair”.

Q. How are you going to repair the pipe? With a Collar?

A. Repair the pipe in accordance with the solicitation, attachment 9, Storm Drainage Specification.

Ensuring compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations on the joints. Concrete collar may be used.

Q. Has the Pipe been TV’d?

A. No, it has not.

Q. Is the Pipe active?

A. Yes it is.

Q. Are we required to clean the pipe?

A. Cleaning is not a requirement.

Q. Can you put in a trench box?

A. In accordance with the solicitation, attachment 1, Statement of work, dated 16 September 2009, I.C.1.c. The contractor shall use a trench box. The boxes come in difference sizes and shall be used.
