About this file

This document is an Additional Questions & Answers addendum for the DGMC Simulation Center Audio Visual System Upgrade project at Travis Air Force Base, California, solicitation number FA442725Q1110. The document provides clarification on two key aspects of the project: manikin compatibility and existing equipment removal. For manikin compatibility, the government clarified that the new system only needs to receive AV signals and project vital signs via HDMI, without requiring direct control of the manikins.

The existing equipment to be removed includes overhead speaker/microphone systems, cameras, and wall-mounted monitors in training and control rooms. The current AV infrastructure is controlled by a CAE LearningSpace system, with specific equipment including Axis P5534/5512 cameras, MXL FR-401M and Audio-Technica Pro-44 ceiling-mounted microphones, JBL room speakers, Benq room monitors, LG and Sharp control room monitors, and various audio control components like a Pyle PFS-200 amplifier and Shure 522 microphone. The upgrade will involve removing these existing components and integrating a new AV system compatible with simulation manikins from Laerdal, Elevate (CAE), and Gaumard.

DGMC Simulation Center Audio Visual System Upgrade

Travis Air Force Base, CA Additional Questions & Answers

1. PWS Statement: "Must be compatible with the following Manikins:

- Laerdal: 3G, SimMan ALS, and SimMom

- Elevate (CAE): Apollo Pre-Hospital

- Gaumard: Obstetric Victoria"

Question: Please confirm whether the government’s requirement is for the system to receive IT/Video signals from the listed manikins, or if there is also an expectation for the touch panel to provide control functionality for the manikins themselves. Our assumption is that the requirement is limited to receiving the manikins’ AV signals, without any capability to control the manikins from the touch panel.

ANSWER: The control panel will be for the AV/Video system. Each manikin has its own Control System and software. We should be able to project our vital signs monitor via HDMI to each room.

2. PWS Statement: Page 1, "2.4. The Contractor shall remove existing AV equipment listed below. Removed items shall be returned to owner for disposal.

2.4.1. Overhead speaker/microphone system

2.4.1.1. Ceiling mount speaker in training rooms connected to control room workstations

2.4.1.2. Ceiling mount microphone in training rooms connected to control room workstations

2.4.1.3. Overhead speaker/microphone system from control rooms

2.4.1.4. Microphones from training rooms connected to control rooms operating systems, ceiling mounted

2.4.2. Cameras from training rooms connected to control rooms operating systems, wall & ceiling mounted

2.4.3. Wall mounted monitors from control room"

Question: Is there an existing equipment list available? This section addresses much, if not all, of the auxiliary equipment, but does not specifically reference the core AV equipment that would be housed in the equipment racks.

ANSWER: Our video capture system is controlled by CAE LearningSpace system.

As stated in SOW:

Camera: Axis P5534/5512 Ceiling Mounted Micorphones: MXL FR-401M and Audio-Technica Pro-44 Room Speakers: JBL

Room Monitor: Benq Control Room Monitos: LG & Sharp Control Room Audio Controls:

Amplifier: Pyle PFS-200 Speaker Monitor: Anchor AN-1000X + Microphone Pre-Amp: Behiringer -TubeUlta gain Mic 100 Microphone: Shure 522 (Push to talk)
