Please consider removing this qualification as the qualification is intended for projects with complex industrial and marine structures requiring coatings including but not limited to bridges, offshore drilling, power generation facilities, Petro/chemical plants, and wastewater treatment facilities.

There are very few QP1 contractors in the entire state of South Carolina - most of whom do not regularly paint interior drywall partitions.

Answer
This qualification has been removed.
18Question
Record Drawings VS Recent Project Materials and Finishes Info.Per record Drawings, the existing lighting over the Lav's in the restrooms is being provided by cove mounted industrial strip lighting, however the Design Basis Materials and Finishes of the recent project only indicate wall mounted vanity lighting and 2X2 flat panel lighting. Please confirm if the RFP intent is to cut into the existing walls over the Lav's and install wall mounted vanity fixtures that are supplemented with ceiling mounted 2X2 fixtures flat panels rather than utilize cove mounted LED strip fixtures at the ceiling of both restroom walls similar the existing installation.
Answer
All tile and wallboard will be demolished in the construction area. All existing lighting shall be demolished. Approximate the lighting layout of the basis of design restrooms.
19Question
Part 3 - Statement of Work / Project Program - D50 ElectricalSection D50 does not define any expectation of wiring are raceway replacement. Is it appropriate to assume existing wiring can be reused, and all that would need to be replaced is wiring from last J-box to lighting fixture or device?
Answer
The intention is to pull power from existing circuits in the room. This was the option used in the recently completed restroom project. If this is not possible then a run to the panels feeding the respective rooms will need to be made. The electrical drawings for the rooms and the associated panels will be provided as a separate attachment with the responses to these questions.
20Question
Part 3 - Statement of Work / Project Program - D50 ElectricalPer record drawings, the existing restrooms do not have exit signs in them, would base AHJ allow the same interpretation of "Marking of Means of Egress" under this project, or will Exit signs be expected?
Answer
Exit signs are not expected.

Attachment 1 As-built DrawingsPer the original contract drawings provided in the RFP, the existing foundation is comprised of reinforced concrete grade beams and pile caps consistent with a deep foundation system. Given this type of construction, access for installation of new utilities may be limited. Are there any other means of access available to avoid disruption to existing structure?
Answer
There are no other means of access.
22Question
Part 3 - Statement of Work / Project Program - 1.0 Project DescriptionPer the record drawings, domestic hot water is shown to serve the hot water needs of the fixtures in each of the latrines. However, the project description states "the existing latrines do not have hot water and a recirculating electrically heated hot water supply will need to be designed and installed." Please confirm the extent of the scope of work for the domestic hot water heater.
Answer
A recirculating electrically heated hot water supply will need to be designed and installed to supply all three floors. The current tempered water system is insufficient. The intent is for the six remodeled restrooms to be provided with hot and cold water from the new water heater. There is an existing water heater that only provides tempered water to the restroom sinks. That water heater shall be replaced and pipping shall be installed to provide hot and cold water to the restrooms. If there are any other existing fixtures being supplied by that water heater then piping at the heater needs to tie into the existing piping that feeds those fixtures. The new water heater is to be 80 gallons.
