1. INTRODUCTION

All current T-6 aircraft parking spots between rows Alpha and Kilo have mooring points and tie-downs directly underneath the T-6 aircraft tail lower vertical fin and slightly in front of the wings. During high winds, the chain used to tie-down the T-6 aircraft has caused damage to the T-6 aircraft leading to fewer aircraft being available for meeting the syllabus for those in the Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Program. The repositioning of the mooring point and tie-down beneath the tail lower vertical further back behind the T-6 aircraft and the mooring points and tie downs slightly in front of the wings towards the wing tips would pull the chains away from the aircraft and avoid further damage during high winds.

Within the below documents, the following shall be consistent. When “the Government” is mentioned, it is a representation of: the Project Manager (PM), the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), the Contracting Officer (CO). When “the Contractor” is mentioned, it is a representation of the prime contractor, all sub-contractors, and all other parties working with/for the prime contractor. When “tie-down” is mentioned, it is a representation of the rod with an eyelet used to attach a chain that secures the aircraft in place. When “mooring point” is mentioned, it is a representation the cutout in the pavement surrounding the tie-down.
