About this file

This is a memorandum establishing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) safeguarding requirements and acknowledgment procedures for all contractors and subcontractors at Columbus Air Force Base (CAFB). The memorandum is issued by the 14th Contracting Squadron Commander, effective July 3, 2024, and applies to every individual under prime contractors and all subcontractors at any tier.

Key requirements include: all contractors with access to CUI materials must complete DoD mandatory CUI training from MyLearning before accessing CUI or within 30 days of assignment to CAFB (training will be attached to solicitation postings on Government Point of Entry systems for civilian contractors unable to access MyLearning); contractors must sign and return the memorandum as acknowledgment of training completion prior to receiving any CUI-classified contract materials; and contractors or subcontractors must notify the Contracting Officer of any improper CUI disclosure within 72 hours of occurrence. Violations of improper CUI disclosure may result in recourse actions determined by the 14th Contracting Squadron Commander and CAFB Wing Information Protection Officer, including mandatory CUI training retakes, debarment from base, or contract termination. FAR Clause 52.204-21 (Basic Safeguarding of Covered Contractor Information Systems) will be inserted into solicitations and contracts when Federal contract information resides in or transits through contractor information systems.
