About this file
This is a memorandum from the Department of the Air Force, Headquarters 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base, establishing mandatory procedures for contractors to safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
The memorandum, effective May 21, 2024, implements CUI safeguarding requirements for all contractors and subcontractors at any tier who may access Federal contract information. All contractors with CUI access must complete Department of Defense mandatory CUI training from MyLearning prior to accessing CUI materials or within 30 days of assignment to Columbus Air Force Base. For civilian contractors unable to access MyLearning, the training will be attached to solicitation postings on Government Point of Entry systems. Contractors must sign and return this memorandum as acknowledgment of completed training before receiving any CUI-classified contract or contract materials. Any improper CUI disclosure must be reported to the Contracting Officer within 72 hours of occurrence. Contractors subject to improper CUI disclosure face recourse actions determined by the 14 Contracting Squadron and CAFB Wing Information Protection Officer, including retraining requirements, debarment from base, or possible contract termination. The memorandum references FAR 4.19, FAR Clause 52.204-21, and Executive Order 13556, and compliance is mandatory with possible additional requirements imposed by Contracting Officers based on specific contract needs.
