About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) seeking additional clarification, specifically related to a Question #1 regarding Table of Contents (TOC) specification in Section 2.1 of the Performance Work Statement. The RFI is associated with a federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number: FA301625Q6131) for Laboratory Grade Water Purification issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command. The contract requires the procurement and installation of two Type 1 Reagent Grade Laboratory Water Filtration Systems for the 59th Medical Wing at Wilford Hall, JBSA Lackland, TX. The systems must meet specific water quality standards for sensitive laboratory and research applications, with the contractor responsible for providing tools, labor, equipment, materials, services, personnel, training, and shipping necessary for installation, commissioning, and personnel training.

Request for Information (Additional Clarification Request) Question #1. TOC Specification Clarification:

Section 2.1 of the Performance Work Statement lists the TOC limit at <50 ppb, consistent with CLRW standards. However, Section 1.3.2 describes the water as Type I laboratory grade, which under ASTM D1193-06 typically requires TOC <10 ppb.

Could the government clarify which TOC threshold governs this procurement?

Government Response:

Question #2. Validation Protocols:

Are there any specific validation protocols or documentation requirements expected post-installation to verify conformance with water quality standards (e.g., TOC/resistivity testing, certificates, startup reports, etc.)?

Government Response:

Question #3. Optional Pretreatment – Water Softener:

Would the government be open to vendors including an optional soft water pretreatment system in their proposals, if it supports longer system life or improved performance?

Government Response:

File details come from the government source that posted it. Updated .
