Questions and Answers (REVISED) June 30, 2016 (Additional questions posted July 7, 2016)
1. Is this project new construction or remodel of existing?
Answer - remodel of existing
2. If remodel, will the rooms be occupied or un-occupied?
Answer - the rooms will be occupied
3. Will our installers have clear access to the windows?
Answer – Yes
4. How many bldgs. are involved and how many floors per bldg?
Answer - There are 2 buildings, 3 floors in each building.
5. Do the bldgs. have freight elevators?
Answer - No. The buildings have standard elevators.
6. Will secure locations be provided on-site to store the drapery & rods?
Answer - We do have storage rooms throughout the building. If the drapery install takes several days, the draperies can be installed in the warehouse. Vendor will be required to take them to the warehouse and pick them up themselves.
7. Can we have the goods shipped to our installer and store them off-site?
Answer - If the vendor wants to ship the goods to their installer and store them off site during the installation time it is up to them but there will be no additional charges.
8. There isn’t a fabric specified. Can we quote any fabric we choose?
Answer – Attachment B has been revised and updated.
9. Are the mounting surfaces, walls & ceilings, drywall/Sheetrock or concrete/brick?
Answer – They will be mountin to the walls/drywall
10. Can the treatments & rods that are removed be disposed of in the base’s dumpsters or must they be hauled off-site?
Answer – Dumpsters are on site where the draperies and hardward can be dumped.

11. On the SOW, Section 13 Quality Assurance sates"The government shall inspect all work performed by the contractor. Work performance shall be deemed satisfactory and acceptable to the government when the 502 CES/CEIHD declares the project satisfactory".
Answer: Inspections of the work, quality of work takes place during the install. Our dorm managers work alongside the contractor's team of installers.
12. How quickly does this inspection occur? Does the inspection start while the job is still in progress? Do they wait till after the job is completed? If so, how much time between completion & inspection? Does our installer have to be present during the inspection?
Answer: The installer will be present because the inspection takes place while the drapes are being installed.
13. The Technical Specifications in Attachment B posted on 6/30 states 2 drapery panels per window which implies 1 center opening pair per window while the original Technical Specifications in Attachment B posted on 6/23 stated one way draw panels. Has the spec switched to center opening pairs?
Answer: The Attachment B posted on 6/30 is correct - 1 center opening pair per window.
14. Also, will the TR be inspecting the drapery and installation during the course of the job? If not, how quickly will the inspection occur after the job is completed? Does our installer need to be present during the inspection? How will the Inspection affect our ability to get paid? Once approved, will payment be authorized immediately?

15. Do you have the manufacturer's name of the Midnight Blue Sateen fabric?
Answer: No Manufacturer

Answer: The work is inspected as the contractor performs...while the job is still in progress. Our dorm managers work alongside the contractor as installation is taking place.
