About this file
This is a Responses to Solicitation Questions document for federal contract opportunity #FA286026Q0045 regarding Industrial Fan Maintenance and Repair Services, issued on 17 September 2026.
The solicitation requires annual maintenance and repair services for industrial fans located in restricted-access hangars. Contractors must provide labor only for repairs and replacements of air foils, motors, mounts, and hardware, as replacement parts are covered under Big Ass Fans warranty. Work is limited to one annual visit per location; service calls between visits are not included in pricing. Contractors must supply their own boom lift for fan access and will require an escort due to the restricted area designation. Boom lifts will be scheduled in advance to ensure no aircraft are present in hangars. Roof access is not permitted and not required. No clearance restrictions exist within the hangars, and floor space is available for equipment adjustment. A reference photo showing fan locations and surrounding work areas is provided and is consistent across all hangars.

Industrial Fan Maintenance and Repair Services 17 September 2026
Q1: How are the fans typically accessed for maintenance?
A1: They will require an escort as the fans are in a restricted area. Contractors will also bring their own boom lift.
Q2: Whether roof access is available or permitted?
A2: Roof access is not permitted and shouldn't be needed.
Q3: Any obstructions or limitations that would affect the use of boom lifts or scissor lifts?
A3: Boom lifts will be required and will be scheduled in advanced to ensure no aircraft are in the hangars.
Q4: Whether there are any clearance restrictions within the hangars?
A4: No clearance restrictions.
Q5: Any available photos of the fan locations and surrounding work areas?
A5: A photo is attached to this email. This picture is the same for all hangars. The floor will be open space so there will be plenty of room to adjust the boom lift.
Q6: PWS 4a says the contractor will "repair and replace damaged air foils, motors, mounts, and all hardware as needed," and says the fans are under warranty.
A6:
a. When a part fails, is the replacement part supplied under the Big Ass Fans warranty, so the contractor provides the labor only? Or should our price include the cost of parts?
A6(a): Parts are covered under warranty and labor only should be what is priced.
b. Are repairs limited to what is found during the yearly maintenance visit?
Or should our price also cover service calls between visits if a fan stops working?
A6(b): Visits will only be required once a year. Service calls should not be included in the pricing.
Q7: The work that is going to be performed, is it going to be every day or on call / or as needed?
A7: The work will be required once a year.
