FA255019RA016 Repair Parking Light Poles RFI 003

1. Specification 26 56 00 2.3.H states "Pole finishes shall be anodized bronze paint to match existing luminaires". Steel pole basis of design manufacture offers the following available finishes; Galvanized, Powder Coat, or Powder Coat over Galvanized. Can the steel pole finish be clarified based on the manufactures available finishes?

Government Response: Powder Coat over Galvanized is preferred based on manufacturer availability.

2. Specification 26 56 00 2.6.A states that yellowed lenses of reused/relocated fixtures shall be replaced. The degree of how yellowed a lens is, is a subjective term. Can a quantity of yellowed or cracked lenses, that will need to be replaced, be provided?

Government Response: Any identified yellowing or cracking is subject to replacement, regardless of degree.

3. Could you please clarify if any bid or payment/performance bond is required?

Paragraph 3 on FBO states that “Contractors shall be capable of securing bonding for the total proposed amount” but both Block 12a. and 13b. seem to indicate that no bonds of either type will be required.

Government Response: Bonds are required per the Solicitation under 12a. A new SF1442 has been issued to reflect this requirement. Also, FAR Clause 52.228-15 Performance and Payment Bonds--Construction Oct 2010 is included in the solicitation.

4. Question 21. a. asks what fixture to replace the missing fixture and the Government response was 2E. 2E is the fixture designation for an existing fixture to be removed and reinstalled on the new pole. Please provide a new fixture designation to be installed at pole [1]? Note fixture 2E1 is not scheduled on E-105 or any of the sheets.

Government Response: 2D1 is required

5. Question 22.a. asks what fixture to replace the missing fixture and the Government response was 2D. 2D is the fixture designation for an existing fixture to be removed and reinstalled on the new pole. Will the Government provide a 2D fixture or is the contractor responsible to provide the new fixture? Please provide a new fixture designation to be installed at pole [4]? 2D1 would be the most comparable scheduled new fixture already on E-106?

Government Response: 2D1 is acceptable

6. Question 24.a. & b. Governments response is to use fixture 2G. Fixture 2G is an existing fixture to be removed and reinstalled on a new pole. Will the Government provide a 2G fixture or is the contractor responsible to provide a new fixture? Note the existing fixture(s) 2G is/are missing as is the pole. 2G1 would be the most comparable scheduled new fixture already on E-110.

Government Response: 2G1 is acceptable
