RFI QUESTIONS
Solicitation: FA2521-22-B-0017 Project Number: DBEH 22-1578
Project Description: Replace SAB HVAC, Cape Canaveral SFS, FL
1. Question – What is the approximate pipe lengths and size of the pipe that needs to be replaced and reinsulated?
Government Response – Government requests replacement of like size and length piping
2. Question – Are there as-built drawings available?
Government Response – See attached drawings available
3. Question – Is Commissioning required?
Government Response – Commissioning is required
4. Question – The location of the 2ton AHU is above an electronics cabinet. Should the AHU leak, it could directly affect the electronics below. See attached for new proposed location.
Government Response – Attachment not provided. Mini split system may be installed over the south side door.
5. Question – Note 11 on the Solicitation states that the POP is 180 days after NTP. The current lead time on chillers is 252 days. Will the POP be extended to accommodate the equipment lead times?
Government Response – POP can be extended to meet lead times on all equipment. Verify with contracting officer.
6. Question – During the Site Visit it was noted that the pumps were in bad shape. Are we to price replacing the pumps? If so, please provide information on them.
Government Response – No, pump replacement is not part of scope.
7. Question – Is a temporary chiller to be provided by the Air Force or the contractor?
Government Response – No. Please include temp chiller within proposals.
8. Question –
- What are the power requirements for the 2ton mini-split system?
- Where is power to be soured for the Mini-Split system? What is the distance between them?
- Do the new controllers require any line voltage power or modification of their existing power? -
Government Response – -220V. Verification required.
-Power located adjacent to mech room. Distance is minimal.
-No, same as existing
9. Question – Do the new VAV controllers require any line voltage power or modification of their existing power?
Government Response – No, same as existing
10. Question – Will any modifications be required for the new chiller?
Government Response – No. TRANE chiller for TRANE chiller. Please ensure Bly-Gold coating on coils or equivalent to 10K hour salt spray.
11. Question – Is there a copy of the site visit minutes? As it appears the site visit comments can change the SOW
Government Response- CE does not have meeting minutes for site visit
12. Question – Can the Mini-split hang over the door and not on the exterior wall?
Government Response- Yes
13. Question - Addenda #2, question No. 7 refers to a temporary chiller being provided by the contractor during the replacement of this chiller. There are no portable CHW connection ports on the existing piping to attach a temporary chiller onto. An outage would be required of the chiller system in order to add portable chilled water Hot taps. Should the contractor assume adding these 4” taps during a weekend outage to minimize problems in the facility? And if an outage is to be allowed how long of an outage would we receive?
Government Response - Portable chiller connections are located on eastside of unit. See pictures for reference.
