1.1.1 PROJECT SPECIFICS:

Project Number: MHMV120218

Project Title: DESIGN/ REPAIR ROOF B1025

Customer: AF/A2-FSO

1.2 GENERAL SCOPE OF SERVICES: It is the Government's intent to issue a Contract for design and construction in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) for the project identified in this Statement of Work. The CONTRACTOR will be responsible for preparing working drawings and specifications. This Statement of Work identifies the services required to complete the project. The drawings/specifications shall incorporate the applicable scope of work contained in the attached AF 332.

This project will be located at B1025, Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), New Mexico, (NM). The existing pitched, metal roof has exceeded its useful life. The primary goal of this project is to furnish and install a new, Standing Seam Roof (SSR) system over the existing system, anchoring it to the existing steel structure below. Comply with the latest version of the NRCA (National Roofing

Contractors Association) Roofing & Waterproofing Manual, as dictated by UFC 3-110-03. (Current UFC’s are available at http://www.wbdg.org). This project includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Design a retro-fit, SSR system for Building 1025.

o New roof and substrate shall not exceed 2.3 pounds/ square foot (psf).

o SSR to be minimum 22 gauge (Ga.) Galvalume steel with KYNAR 500 finish or approved equal.

o SSR profile to be 1-1/2” deep snap-together type (Sunsteel “Sunsnap” or approved equal).

Upon AF acceptance of the final design, install new roof system as follows:

o Remove and store existing Lightning Protection System (LPS), antennae, and any mechanical flues and appurtenances prior to new roof installation. Erect antennae for use during construction per direction of User.

o Install plywood or OSB substrate over existing roof system, anchoring to existing structural purlins in accordance with the approved design.

o Install minimum 90# roofing felt vapor barrier.

o Install SSR and associate flashing, trim, and accessories, to include continuous gutters with downspouts along North and South edges of roof.

o Reinstall and re-certify LPS.

o Reinstall all antennae, flues, and other appurtenances removed at project start.

o Install eight each 2’ X 6’ skylights over a portion of the West end of the building.

Provide a 20 year no-dollar-limit (NDL) manufacturer’s warranty to include materials. A two year installer’s warranty shall be included as well as the manufacturer’s warranty.

Descriptions of the project are provided solely for the purpose of revealing the general nature of the work involved. The place of performance shall be at KAFB, NM.

A. Provide all labor, materials and equipment as required to produce a complete project.

1. DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS:

a. The Contractor shall utilize available as-built drawings, maps and other information provided as the basis of the design for the proposed project.

b. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining additional information required to execute the design. This may include creation of as-builts, site measurements, surveys, tests, and other material necessary to provide Contractor with an adequate basis for design.

c. Contractor is responsible for identifying suspect hazardous waste to the greatest extent possible. At present, the Government is unaware of any HAZMAT conditions for this project. However, in the unlikely event asbestos, lead or PCB is suspected, the contractor is to immediately notify the Government. As testing and abatement is not “pre-priced,” the government will issue a formal Request for Proposal under FAR 52.236-2, Differing Site

Conditions, to determine cost for testing and subsequent abatement, if applicable. A formal, funded modification will definitize the necessary contract action. A Suspension of Work

(52.242-14) may or may not be issued. In the event that sampling and testing are included in this contract, the Contractor will be responsible for sampling and testing of suspected materials. Any finishes damaged as a result of sampling shall be repaired by the Contractor.

d. The design shall be in accordance with this Statement of Work and all pertinent KAFB requirements.

e. The Contractor shall field verify any as-built, site survey, geotechnical information or other information that may have been provided by the Government.
