The purpose of the surveying/field sampling conducted by KBT Contracting personnel was to obtain core samples of the existing roofing systems of all four (4) buildings contained in the
Scope of Work of the project. Personnel present obtained samples at the high and low points of each roof area of the buildings in question, utilizing tools and equipment typical of this process and procedure. Photographs of the cores obtained as well as the depths of roof system as each building are attached hereafter.
It was determined and documented by KBT Contracting personnel that the following roofing system occurs at each building:
Building 20:
Upper Roof – Built-up rock roof over 3” polystyrene insulation over approximately 3” gypsum deck
Lower Roof – Built-up rock roof over 9” to 2” gypsum deck (Photos of cores not available as gypsum disintegrated upon removal)
Building 31:
SBS modified glue roofing over 3” gypsum over 3” polystyrene insulation on mop base on lightweight concrete deck
Building 33:
Built-up rock roof over 3” gypsum over 3” polystyrene insulation on mop base on lightweight concrete deck
Building 46:
Built-up rock roof over 7” to 2” of tapered polyisocyanurate insulation on lightweight concrete deck
