About this file

This is a PII Certification document issued by the State of Colorado for individuals requiring access to Personal Identifying Information through a database or automated network. The certification, required pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute 24-74-105, establishes the legal framework for individuals who must access PII in their professional capacity. The document mandates that certified individuals certify under penalty of perjury that they will not use or disclose any Personal Identifying Information, as defined under C.R.S. 24-74-102(1), for the purpose of investigating, participating in, cooperating with, or assisting Federal Immigration Enforcement, including the enforcement of civil immigration laws and provisions codified in 8 U.S.C. Sections 1325 and 1326.

The certification includes standard exceptions that permit disclosure when required to comply with Federal or State law, or to comply with a court-issued subpoena, warrant, or order. The document requires the signatory to provide their signature, printed name, and the date of certification. This certification serves as a compliance mechanism ensuring that individuals with database or network access to PII adhere to Colorado's restrictions on the use of such information in immigration enforcement activities.
