About this file
This document is an exhibit containing technical diagrams for upright headstone realignment procedures in burial sections.
Figure 2 presents a plan view of burial section realignment, illustrating the layout methodology for repositioning headstones. The diagram shows the use of keystones as reference points, with string lines establishing transverse and row alignment. An initial keystone serves as the primary reference point, with subsequent keystones positioned on a realignment grid. The diagram indicates that intermediate headstones are set after keystones are established, with rows to be parallel and columns to be parallel. In sloping terrain, additional keystones may be required to provide smooth transitions between elevation changes.
Figure 3 provides elevation views of burial section realignment for both flat and sloped sections. The flat section diagram shows the typical vertical alignment of headstones relative to the existing undisturbed top soil surface and original headstone locations. The sloped section diagram demonstrates how headstones are realigned relative to a projected vertical alignment plane, with headstones positioned at the mean or average top soil surface level. Both diagrams utilize keystones as reference markers and indicate the distinction between realigned headstone positions (shown as solid lines) and original headstone locations (shown as dashed lines).
