About this file
This specification document outlines wall and door protection requirements for the CCD Immersive Learning Lab project in Denver, Colorado, managed by Clark & Enersen (Project No. 295-016-26). The project specifies the installation of surface-mount stainless steel corner guards as the primary wall surface protection system. The specification requires Type 304 stainless steel plate with a minimum thickness of 0.06 inch and No. 4 satin directional finish, with specific reference to Fry/Reglet #DMCT-375 3/8" exposed corner trim components. Installation must comply with fire performance standards (ASTM E 84 with flame spread of 25 or less and smoke development of 450 or less) and requires an experienced installer qualified in protective wall covering installation on similar projects. Materials must be stored at room temperatures between 70°F and 75°F and acclimatized for a minimum of 72 hours before installation, with the installation environment maintained between 65°F and 75°F during application and 60°F to 80°F after completion.
The specification includes comprehensive quality assurance, submittal, and maintenance requirements. Manufacturers must provide detailed product data, construction details, shop drawings showing locations and extent of installation, and samples for verification of exposed finishes. Maintenance materials equal to 2 percent of each type, color, and texture installed must be furnished as extra stock for future repairs. All fasteners must be non-corrosive and compatible with aluminum components, supplied by the manufacturer. The specification establishes a five-year warranty period from the date of Substantial Completion covering structural failures, material deterioration, and workmanship defects. Installation must occur only after spaces are weather-tight, wet work is complete, permanent lighting is provided, and continuous ventilation is maintained during and after installation per manufacturer recommendations.
