About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details an asphalt paving project for Fermilab's Batavia Road, spanning from Sauk Blvd. to the eastern site boundary. The project requires a subcontractor to perform a comprehensive road overlay, including grinding approximately 9,062 square yards of existing surface asphalt to a depth of 1.9 inches, applying a prime coat, and installing a new 1.9-inch asphalt surface course. Additional scope includes traffic control, thermoplastic pavement markings (including center lines, shoulder lines, and stop bars), and installing warning markers for railroad tracks.
The project is scheduled for the 2025 paving season, with a specific performance period from September 25 to November 28, 2025. The subcontractor must coordinate with the Fermi Forward Discovery Group (FFDG) Construction Coordinator, provide daily weight tickets for asphalt loads, and adhere to strict site access and safety requirements. This includes using Real ID for site access, maintaining clean work areas, providing appropriate personal protective equipment, and ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and used safely. Quality assurance responsibilities include managing work documentation, ensuring quality control services, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
