About this file
This document outlines regulations for the Teton Wilderness area located within the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The regulations prohibit motorized equipment, possessing salt for attracting wildlife, using non-certified hay, leaving unattended animal carcasses or food, and other acts. Group size is limited to 20 people and 35 stock. Camping and grazing restrictions apply near lakes and streams. The maximum stay is 16 days, after which campsites must be moved at least five miles. Campsites cannot be unattended for over 48 hours.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation to replace the Hawks Rest Bridge on the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The prefabricated steel truss bridge and concrete grade beams have already been procured. The contract is for transporting and installing the new pedestrian/stock bridge and grade beams and removing the existing structure per the attached plans. All work must comply with the contract documents and Wilderness Act regulations. The Forest Service will identify a staging area at the construction site. The solicitation is issued by the USDA Forest Service Region 4 Intermountain Region.
