The scope of work includes transporting and installing a prefabricated steel truss pedestrian/stock bridge and precast concrete grade beams that have already been procured. 1202NV20R0002 – AMENDMENT 04 Hawks Rest Bridge Replacement Project Bridger-Teton National Forest

Q. If we fly out the concrete in big sections can we cut them up into the 2x2x2 pieces that the dump wants them in at the Blackrock work station where they will be flown to?

A. Yes, that would be allowed.

Q. Regarding 12" anchor bolts in grade beam - on sheet 4 of the Hawks Rest Bridge Installation drawing there is a note that states ' * 12" cast-in-place anchor or 7" epoxy anchor when approved by CO '. Have the bolts been cast-in-place or was the epoxy option used?

A. They have already been cast into the concrete.

Q. In the Decision Memo attachment in the second paragraph under the background heading it mentions that one of the piers has rotated and is not plumb. Was there any measurement taken on how far it is out of plumb? Was there any indication of damage to the bearing plates or steel beams above this pier? Has there been any visual inspection done since 2016 to determine if this pier has moved since then?

A. The most recent inspection report conducted on the bridge is included as an attachment to the amendment. A visual inspection was completed by one of the Packers in 2017 and 2018 and there was no significant movement noted. However, this was visual and no measurements were taken.

Q. On sheet 1 of installation drawings under project description 4) Construct falsework on existing bridge to support new bridge. Also on page 2 of amendment #2 under general project information it states that the existing bridge is structurally sufficient to complete the falsework for the new bridge. Is there an assumed maximum weight allowed for the falsework? Have calculations been made to determine the capacity of the existing bridge?

A. It is the contractors responsibility to hire an engineer to perform those calculations. Forest Service engineers have ran preliminary calculations and determined it is possible but the contractor will be required to provide a detailed erection plan that include calculations for both the falsework and the existing bridge as a support for the falsework and new bridge.

Q. Will temporary shoring posts and/ or scaffolding be allowed in the river after July 15th?

A. Yes.
